GREEN DAY!!!!
Well, I was one of the lucky couple thousand people who scored a ticket to the Fox Theater in Oakland to see Green Day last night. They played through their entire new album, 21st Century Breakdown, took a break and played another hour or so of old hits.
The show was great. High energy, entertaining... They play really well together. I did think it was interesting that they had two extra guitar players and a keyboard player on stage. One of the guitar players was the same dude that played with them on American Idiot and they still don't treat him like he's a part of the band. Maybe he's not? Maybe he just plays with them, but still lives with his mom? Maybe he gets to come out on stage with Green Day, be a rock star for 2 hours and then after the show they all throw things at him, like soda and cotton candy, so that he remembers he's not a member of Green Day? Maybe he cries? I feel bad for the dude.
