New York City

Well, I just got back from my trip to NY. It was rad! I have never been to NY City, but I would go back in a heart beat. We stayed one night in Brooklyn, which was hipster paradise. Then we spent the rest of the time in Times Square, which was more like tourist hell.

I had a chance to check out two show's while I was there. At the Village Vanguard we saw Al Foster, who played with Miles Davis for many years. His show was incredible. Al had such a great groove, his bands feel was solid, loose and free. It was a great show, very much worth staying up late to see. For more on Al Foster check out:

I also got to see the David Letterman show be filmed. The show was filmed on Monday June 1st, but didn't air until Friday June 5th. The main guest was Paris Hilton. She's crazy!!! That's all about her. The band was really good, Anton Fig was great on drums. I just wish he would have hit the drums harder and got into it more. He seemed a little bored. I guess maybe that's what happens when you play the same gig 5 days a week. Anyhow, he's still a great drummer, check out more of Anton at:

I am getting ready to play at Bottom of the Hill tomorrow night in San Francisco. It's our follow up show from the last time we rocked that place. It felt really good to play drums yesterday and teach some lessons, gonna go do the same today!

Keep practicing!!!
